Milestones: "Daddy" intentionally
Seth has certainly grown quite a bit in his personality and character. He is quite strong willed, and wants what he wants. Though he does not get what he wants unless it is a reasonable request after consideration. haahaha. We are still learning to be parents. Much to learn. It has been a fun two year journey. Looking forward to hearing him speak properly. I guess sometimes in my naughtiness, I "pretend" not to hear his requests in instances when he is twittering and his pointing at the dvds - to request for more shows, but divert his attention to other activities... hahaha. Naughty me. I wonder what it would be like for a parent when the child can speak proper words and sentences.... Will I have the will power to decline/divert his requests? I wonder... ;p
Cheekiness
Seth likes to call out Daddy to his dad in the mornings. One morning, he was calling, Daddy, Daddy, and here the mom said, Call Mommy. He looked at her with a cheeky smile, and said increasingly louder "Daddy! Daddy!Daddy! Daddy!" hmph.
Observant
Little boy two is quite an observant child. He picks up 10 cent coins and gives it to his mom. My aunt said he warned her about her money which was slipping out of her blouse pocket when she was bending to do something.
Two little monkeys
We have a recent favourite song with hand actions from Blues Clues:
Two little monkeys, (two fingers)
jumping on the bed;
one fell down and bumped his head. (hand on the head)
Momma called the doctor, (hand clasped next to ear as if holding a phone)
and the doctor said,
"No more monkeys jumping on the bed". (waving of hand and shaking of head to signify, No".)
It started because this little boy discovered he could jump. And he tried jumping on the bed. And we were telling him NOT to do that. It ended up the other way round. Now he wants to jump on the bed while signalling the mother to sing the Two Monkeys song by putting his hand next to the ear... sigh. So much for discipline. Sounds like reverse psychology for the mother instead of the child being trained. Where is my rod of correction...
Prayer hands
About two months back, one day, little boy suddenly put his hands together when I started praying with him. He does it regularly now when we say, Let's pray. Or if we happen to be praying in tongues. We found his clasping his hands together though we did not say, Let's pray. Wonder where he'd learnt that. Must be the Lord.
Letter identification
Two days back, I was holding a book, and it had a sentence.. like God ... somthing, somthing.. and I was showing it to him. He just pointed to the letter, "O" and said, "O". I thought it was a fluke, and wanted to read him the full sentence, when he pointed again, and said, "O". Looks like he is picking up letter though he hardly talks in English, but twitters a lot with an earnest expression in his baby language still. hahaha.
