Milestone: Hey hey hey

Teeth. One other baby who is two months younger has cut two lower front teeth. I am wondering when Baby will cut his first tooth.

For the last two or three days, Baby has been pulling himself up to stand. He loves doing this. Now if we put him on the bed, he crawls everywhere, especially on the pillows. He is probably in the exploring mode.

Two to three days ago, he started biting the cot rail as it is just at the height of his mouth when standing. Today, I found him crying hysterically with some blood on the clothes and his face. He must have slipped or something when I walked out for a few minutes. There was no clear wound on the gums. A bit of blood but it did not look oozing. However when feeding him solids later, there was a new presence of "grating" against the weaning spoon. Well, looks like Baby's teeth is appearing soon. Hope this is so and not something else.

The second major development is communication. Of late his "baba" has become clearer and distinct. He uses it to specifically call Hubby now.

If something catches his attention, he will suddenly say, Heyyyyy,heyyyy... I used to wonder where this came from. I first heard a "hey, hey, hey!" from his grandfather. It felt a bit odd at first hearing because my parents probably did not say that. Wonder what my parents used to say... hmmmm.... Then on another occasion, I heard Hubby using the same phrase to address Baby. Now when Baby sees something he wants to crawl towards, you will hear, Hey. hey hey. Maybe it runs in the male gender of this family. hehehehehe.

I have recently heard him hey heying the father's book on the bed. Today, I heard his hey heying excitement at seeing the TV. Oh-oh. He associates the TV with his favourite Blue's Clues DVD which we have watched numerous times (i think I have subconsciously memorized the script partially). I love the short song by They Might Be Giants in the DVD.. excellent.

Ah. I am enjoying every moment of parenting. :) This is indeed a priviliged life given by the Lord. Thanks Lord. :)
