daydreaming again

For some reason, this time of the year makes me yearn to travel.
I get restless. The mere thought of going away somewhere makes me excited.
Somewhere, I hope, with four seasons. Simply so I can have a look at the different colour of leaves on the trees. Or the kinds of trees that grow in one's garden. I love the strong winds that welcomed us on another land last year. Even their bread found on the supermarket aisles taste real. man. oh.. the thick slices of toasted cafe raisin bread...slather on the marmalade, and bring out the red rooibos tea. heavenly.

In cities, well, I tire self out with the unstoppable exthusiasm to run to find little corners and nooks, getting good bargains, having a real cuppa coffee. Eat real scones. Immersion in the culture. Imbibing in the great sceneries. Enjoying history.
Sometimes I tired myself out so much by thinking "get good food, get good bargains" (actually - what great gifts can i get for so and so at this price) - i think i miss out on the sceneries. Maybe this time, if i do get to go, I will take time to look at the buildings. Speaking of which, I recalled taking lots of pictures of nice buildings. Where are those photos... I'd probably skip the pressies to save time.. sorry folks.

I guess I do love history. Though this realisation came later in life. It did not happen when I was studying history.

Myabe it'd be really fun to visit a farm. Pluck fruits. Eat. Watch the farm animals. Or go on a trip to watch whales. Yea. Whales and dolphins, and penguins.

*pinch*. I am suppposed to be working, but here am i daydreaming. ouch. Lord, please cause my daydreaming to be real again this year. I want to drink real milk, and eat cheese, and bread.. and try different sweets and honey in the land of milk and honey again this year. May this come to pass... also, opportunities to invest into lives. So the trip wont be wasted. amen.

we are just 'hard to satisfied' people on earth - I find myself yearning for nasi lemak, laksa, chow kui teoi when I have tasted most of the stuff you mentioned. But perhaps it will be the other way round if I am now in KL - I do miss the taste of milk, tea and different types of bread here then :-P

I have to agree with you on that "dissatisfied" factor. hahahaha. wishing you and family a very happy easter season. the grass on the other side of the pasture is always greener... but, er, actually when i visited our friends down under, the grass was really greener, the air fresher, and the sky always made me happy, irregardless... I had never ever wanted to consider migration till i went there. hahahaha. meanwhile, I will continue to enjoy the nasi lemak, cendol, nasi dagang & kandar over here. hahahaha. We hope to see you all one day in the near future. missed you all. it somehow feels lonely over here...
