is this quirky or what?

I just realised upon reflection that the man i am married to does not fit the mould of a conventional traditional chinese man "kuai chai" or "good boy" mould in my mind (or that which was drummed into my head while growing up).


First of all, he does not keep things wrapped up in plastic for long. Ever seen those cars going around with their seats still in plastic wrappers? I wonder where's the comfort of that... hehe.

Secondly, he has no hoarding instincts. (Thank God!)

Thirdly, he does not have a name that sounds like a mineral.

Fourthly, he spouts a goatee, and spiky hair. Wonder where that came from.

Fifthly, he likes extreme sports.

Sixthly, he wanted to be a police dog when he grew up.
Most kids were told to be accountants, lawyers, or doctors... the money earners.

Seventhly, he married a creative quirk who has not much love for pork.

Eightly, his hair is not straight with a side parting.

Ninthly, he does not go around in polo tees.

Tenth point, he grew up in an "English only" household, and is now trying to learn Mandarin.

Maybe our parents were trying so much to break free from tradition which they felt bound or oppressed by, that the children ended up feeling like bananas... and am trying to find our way home. (Of course they kept the food traditions. That's almost only what's left for those who have migrated here and are still in this country).

OR Maybe i was thinking too much about nothing to begin with. hahahaha. Just some random thoughts when i should be working... ouch
