Milestones: Music, dancing, songs and speech

The small one is like a sponge nowadays. He started having an interest to speak after CNY this year. So as the time progressed on, we are still watching and it's quite amazing (i think all parents think the same) to see them learn.

As much as we dislike (almost hate) to expose him to "brands" and "products".... i guess it's unavoidable. Everything has a brand unless, as I heard, you are shopping in one of those discount shops where there are cans of food in a big pile with no labels, and you pay a minimal price per can. But you need to shake the can to know the contents. hahahahaha. So every meal is a surprise, eh? But that's another adventure. hahahaha.

So watching our son grow has really been a joy. He seems to enjoy music.
"Elmo!' is a frequent cry nowadays with pointing of fingers to the DVD file.
So when Elmo's world's intro comes up with the little song, Lala-lala, lala-lala, Elmo's world..." little boy would be standing in front of the tv, sometimes with hands on hips, shaking his head to the tune. Sometimes he would dance or twirl around.. Like I saw him following the Hula dance scene of Lilo & Stitch's opening few days ago.

"Ap-peee borthday too uuu".. a song he learnt from Blue's Clues is another fav song he'll sing. Or incy-winchy spider's actions. Or head, shoulders knees and toes - to start, he'll put his hands on his shoulder.

Repeating words is another. hahahaha. The other day, hubby was saying relating a story and end with a breaking wind incident. so the f-a-r-t word was said. Er, little one was there as well, and immediately repeated that word aloud. hahahha. The look on hubby's face was rather priceless. heheheh.

Mimicking cadence. Occasionally I see him repeating sentences - or sounds in the shows he watches, following the cadence. Yesterday I brought home the movie, Penguins in the Sky. A story based on Asahiyama Zoo in Hokkaido which focuses on "Behavioral Exhibition" -- pioneered by the zookeepers. Seth was trying to micking the cadence of the actors's conversations. When they shouted, he shouted. I could hear him saying his baby talk and following their sentences. I wonder if he'd learn japanese someday.

Reading Dr Seuss is another activity he enjoys. He really likes the Horton hears a who. Do you know how lucky you are, and Thidwick the good hearted moose. Thankfully, there's a good bookstore that sells these at reasonable prices..

I hope to be able to capture these on video soon :)

It is always joy to see how your little one grows. They learn things fast and this is the time you put values in perspective.
